Social Science Social Science is the study of the interaction of past and present people with their environment and with other people. lreton's Social Studies department has grown to a staff of four able men, each using his own unique presentation. They make the understanding of the concepts and their application easier and more meaningful. Mr. Michael Graben's use of student involvement, Fr. David Ha- gan's valuable insights, lVlr. Harry Swaney's own brand of humor and Mr. Edmund Gordon's fantastic research projects all add variety and life to history and allied fields. Father David Hagan seems to be objecting to a students interpreta tion of an assigned reading, Manchild ln a Promised Land. Five periods of World History and the freshmen's version of it puts Mr. Gordon into a state of numb acquiescence. Mr. Michael Graben grins as he listens to a Virginian's version of how the South won the war. With heartfelt sympathy, Mr. Harry Swaney announces the nior government grades.
