Every day furnishes evidence of this. Listen in on a pep meeting when students cease their merriment to consecrate the Hogan teams to the Sacred Heart of jesus. Watch these teams assemble weekly in the Hogan chapel for Mass and Holy Communion. Follow the Home Coming parade which forms at the Benedictine Chapel of Perpetual Adoration, where Hogan's Queen presents her bouquet at the altar of the Eucharistic King. In winter, observe Hogan Citizens converting their gym into a house of prayer sr the annual retreatg and 1n spring their campus into a setting for the annual field ass. Above all consider the daily Masses, Communions, visits, and rosaries offered in reparation and thanksgiving. To commemorate this spirit we dedicate this book to Christ in the Blessed Sacrament and to all Hogan citizens, members of His Mystical Body. KJ -1 X 'I Il 4 - ..-..,....,,..-.J-..-:Q-.-u.y....... .. Keeping Ho- ganites informed oHicially over the P. A. system, managing ticket sales, and conducting large scale magazine drives constitute a few of jackis responsibilities. jack Marlborough Eleeting members of Hogan's Student Board is an important participation in school citizenship. In our present global condition one hope is the continuance of our right to select our leaders in a free election. To appreciate this right, Hoganites exercise it by electing Board members. Sue Turgcoiif Carolyn l,cxx is, and Tom Redmond, sponsor a dance honoring Mary, Mother Beloved. This project prcludes thc numerous activities of a busy So- dality year - our retreat, the annual Field Hass and the weekly Masses for the teams, all-school paper drives for sending officers to the Summer School of Catholic Action, and thc everyday ioh of fostering devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Marv. L'To jesus through Mary, is the motto, always. i SODALITY LEADER S Father Fahey, spiritual director, and the Sodality ofiicers discuss ways and means to initiate new projects. The weekly Holy Hour at the Benedictine Chapel and ah extension of the period of instruction be- fore the reception of freshmen into the Sodality, are examples of such planning. To jesus tlarozzgb Maryjl is their motto in all this fwork. Heading the Student Spiritual Council and supervising Committee projects, is a big job for these officers: Tom Redmond, vice-prefect, Pat Hartigan, treasurer, Sue Turgeon, secretary, and Carolyn Lewis, prefect. In St. Paul, Minnesota, last August, they re- ceived valuable training for this work at the Summer School of Catholic Action. The Student Spiritual Council is made up of the Sodality officers and the heads of the per- manent committees. The Council's chief work is the planning and carrying out of projects for 'Q J x 4' the eight committees: the Apostolic, Literature, Our Lady's, Eucharistic, Mission, Interracial Convert, and the Publicity Committees. Each Committee works as a unit headed by a chair- man and secretary. The New Year of 1951 brings Kenny Fry home to Hogan. From Boston, Kenny returns, after fourteen months of hospitalization for paralysis caused by a football injury. Welcoming Kenny back, the Pep and UH Clubs have a Mass and special prayers of thanksgiving, followed in the afternoon by an assembly. At the P.A., Don Galbraith, M.C., interviews Kenny and his brother, Bo Fry. Kathleen Mc- Donnell reads the following prayer she com- posed: Oh, God, We thank You for giving Kenny back to us, for blessing him with perserverance, and making him cheerful when the going was tough- est. We thank You for Kenny's good example of not letting troubles-no matter how big- discourage him, for this living proof that more things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Each day, as Kenny walks through the halls, we shall be reminded of the miracle that has hap- pened and of our great indebtedness to You, Who made his recovery possible. Amen.
