The Retreat Rev. 0. Munie, O. M. I. RFU- L. C- 30141111 We had a very fine retreat December 3, 4, 5. For the first time there were two retreat masters, one for the boys, and one for the girls. Father Orville Munie of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate of Carthage, Missouri, gave the retreat for the boys, and Father Leonard C. Boehm, of the Assumption Parish, for the girls. It was plain to see that the students were doing all in their power to make the retreat a success. Even the freshmen who have a hard time lining up with the three days of silence did very well. Throwing a spotlight on Father Muncieas instructions, we found the main theme to be: This is your opportunity to start life anew. lt is the abuse of things created . g. , by God that is sinful, not their usef, By abuse, Father meant using things for a purpose for which God did not intend them. With the frequent advice, Zip your lip, and talk with Cod, Father Boehm wove his talks around the subject of a recent encvclieal of Pope Pius XII. Tua Res . 9, . . Agitur tYour destiny is at stakel. These words Father Boehm used to show the girls that upon good women depends the saving of our world. 8
