Yum, Yum! Anyone care for a tavern? Mrs. Anna Goettertz stops to admire the re- sults of ardent polishing of the new furniture in the Youth Center. Mrs. Goettertz can he seen busily working to keep the building look- ing neat and attractive. Mrs. Mary Ann Higgens can still smile after a busy day of endless demands from all di- rections. She is Father Bauer's personal sec- retary and is in charge of the main office. She also heads the student office staff. Mr. Herbert Ringler pauses for a moment from his endless task of caring for Heelan needs. He keeps the building clean, mops and waxes floors, and keeps everyone happy. Mr. Julius Shkurensky, track coach, teaches industrial arts. Here he demonstrates for the boys in his class the essentials of drilling. Sister Mary St. Fabian, B.V.M., instructs her class in the use of the history reference shelf. Sister teach- es religion II, English III, and homeroom. Father joseph Studer shows his pride in the trophies won by the Crusaders. Father is athletic director, associate executive director of the CY O, and teaches two classes of religion IV. Sister Mary Therese Eileen, B.V.M., points out to members of the debate team some disturbing facts connected with the steel strike. Sister teaches Spanish, U. S. history, is debate moder- ator, and has a senior homeroom. U. S. history, and has a junior Sister Mary Verona, O.S.M., pre- pares for Thanksgiving holidays by decorating the bulletin board on fourth floor. Sister has a sopho- more homeroom and teaches Eng- lish II, religion II, U. S. history, and economics. Mr. Dwight Wolbers illustrates congruity of triangles to his alge- bra class. Mr. Wolbers has a sophomore homeroom, teaches al- gebra and geometry and assists in the athletic department. 20 Faculty . . . Your spirits shine through you.

Of triumphs . . Even of failures. With a little sadness in our remembrances, We recall our years at Heelan- As freshmen . . . learning to love the traditions of our school. As sophomores . . . developing the true Heelan spirit. As jtmiors . . . anticipating our senior year. And finally as seniors . . . realizing more fully the ideal for which Heelan stands. We have learned our responsibilities as Catholic young people Not without sincere appreciation, Do we leave her halls . . . The hallowed halls of our Alma Mater. 22
