7rh-8th - OLYMPICS - Zfh-8th The T. K. Gorman Middle School Olympics is a series of competitions be- tween homebases which is sponsored by the Middle School Student Government. This year, for the first time, it was divided into two divi- sions: the 7th and 8th grade division and the 5th and 6th grade division. The Olympics provide intramural competition for all students in the areas of athletics, scholastic endeavors and service. A. Roberson's Raiders - 1st Place. B. Young's Warriors - 2nd Place. C. AIR BAND Thls year a new and very popular event was held In the Mlddle School. It was the Alr Band Concert, whlch was sponsored by Hood's Homebase. Students did on ex- cellent job of performlng as their favorlte rock groups. The concert was judged by a panel of Hlgh School students. A. 1st Place Wlnners - Whodlnl, performed by Mlchelle Roseland, Ja- que Ratcllff, Cathy York, Shelly Skelly, and Denlse Procell. D. 2nd Place - Judas Priest - Pat Everett, Pat Maloney, Mark Perry, Alan Wharton, Jerry Rotcllff. C. 3rd Place - Dllly Idol - Vlncent Danlel and Cralg Powell. D. Mlchelle Floyd as Madonna, E. The scholastic competition involves quiz bowl, a spelling bee, Texas State Math Competition, and grades and conduct. The service included a Senior Citizen Luncheon, collecting soup labels for school equipment, and service projects for the school. A. Claybon's Homebase - 1st Place. B.
