The '86 Homecoming game once again was the centerpeice for the excitement of the week. The Gaels scored first when quar- ter- back Ken Windham hit Marty Cordova across the middle, Cordova sped 76 yards down the sidelines, virtually untouched, as the Gaels got on top, 6-0, the two point conversion failed. The Gaels scored twice more on field goals of 22 and 26 yards by kicker, Steve Crevoiserat, to lead at the half 12-0. Half time festivities included Home- coming Queen coronation and perfor- mances by the Precisionares and Song Lead- ers. The second half started out tough, as Valley's defense clamped down. Then, their offense got on track, a couple of complete Blockovich passes and a long run put Valley in business. They later scored on a short run and cut Gorman's edge to 12-7. After Val- ley's score, the game seesawed back and forth until the final quarter when Valley once again threatened to score. But a third Gael interception nullified Valley's drive and Gorman took over. That's when the Wind- ham-Cordova magic came into play. Wind- ham again hit Cordova, this time for 60 yards and a another score as Gorman took control 18-7. Gorman then made a two point con- version. Final score: Gaels 20, Vikings 7. An- other Gorman Homecoming victory!!! 26 Homecoming
