Biostar uf Qfienu - jfgas Qllvgzxs :M ff: fN fs NTT , , fi- KS THE CHANCERY OUR BISHOP MOST REVEREND NORMAN F. MC FARLAND D.D. 515 COURT STREET - P. O. BOX 1211 RENO, NEVADA 89504 My dear Graduates of 1979: I extend to each of you my congratulations and prayerful best wishes on the successful completion of your education at Bishop Gorman High School. You have been measured by a high standard of performance and have not been found wanting. You have every right to be proud of your achievement. Extraordinary effort, dedication and sacrifice on the part of many have gone into the educational enterprise that has brought you to this moment. To employ a colloquialism, we have put a good many of our eggs into this one basket. We have done so because we are committed to truth and to beauty and to goodness, and believe that all three can be effectively communicated by the Gorman endeavor. But whether or not the effort and sacrifice have indeed been truly successful depends -- it depends on the person you are today, the kind of person you are now capable of becoming, but especially the kind of person you will eventually be. Marked forever as Gorman graduates, may you always be proud of that fact. More importantly, may we always be proud of that fact. God bless you and your future. 1 fff? f,,7 K ff' fx N Z-1,1 1 , Q udp' U Most Reverend Norman F. McFarland Bishop of Reno-Las Vegas

OUR PRINCIPAL REVEREND GEORGE G. HARRIS C.S.V. Dear Graduates: When the high school years end, some of you will be sad that what have been happy years for you are ending. For others, the end will be an occasion for tremendous joy that there will be no more boring classes to attend, no teachers to answer to. I suspect, however, for the majority that your feelings lie some- where between these two extremes. There have been good times and bad, joy and sadness during your years at Gorman. It would be strange indeed if it were any other way. Our hope is, however, that all of you will carry something positive with you as you begin the next stage in your lives. I sincerely feel that most of the teachers that you have had have been truly concerned with helping you to learn and to grow. It might very well be several years before you begin to realize this, but I am confident that most of you eventually will. The Faculty join with me in wishing each of you joy and suc- cess in the years ahead. We are all proud to have had you as students of Bishop Gorman High School. With sincere best wishes, fear- lL??4L44QI CSF! Rev.JZZZEZZLi. Harris, C.S.V. Principal
