Text from Pages 1 - 160 of the 1974 volume:

THE 1974 BISHOP FOREST SILVASCOPE VOLUME XVI School—A place for Learning, Loving, and Having Fun. I know this is how alot of people would define “school” or at least Bishop Forrest High School. Getting together is the first step toward love and after all isn’t all real living, loving? Communication starts when people get together and the more we get together the happier we are. All this learning, loving, and having fun, makes it possible for me to say that BFH definitely has it “all together.” Whirling through 1974, it’s easy, especially for us Seniors to look back upon our carefree high school days with some wistfulncss and realize that soon we will be going forth to meet the challenges of the world. Going forth we shall take this cherished memento as our link between the PAST and the FUTURE. It is my wish to share with you that link, the 1974 SILVASCOPE. Best wishes to all. SPORTS Moments before there was that feeling A feeling of despair, fright, nervousness A feeling that seems to grow And you battle it alone, surrounded by others Each fighting the same feeling For if it is not, then there will be a feeling which perhaps only you will know But others will surely sense But losing is not so bad Not when we all know and feel in our own hearts That the Mighty Rangers had a winning year One we will always remember! But for now the noise is upon you and you must concentrate On doing what is yours to do Doing it as best you can And hoping that your effort will be greater than your opponents INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS MAKE A WINNING TEAM THE RANGERS Back row, left to right: Jon Maguire, Head Coach; R. FOR THE OTHER STUDENTS AND FACULTY, IT WAS A HARD WORKING YEAR FULL OF HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS MOMENTS. MONTH BY MONTH, DAY BY DAY, HOUR BY HOUR, WE WALKED THE HALLS OF BFH AND FOUND HAPPINESS AND LOVE AMONG OURSELVES AND OTHERS. UNITY BECAME THE BACKBONE OF BFH AND AS THE SCHOOL YEAR ENDED WE KNEW OUR SENIORS WERE LEAVING, BUT THE STRONG BOND OF UNITY HELD US TOGETHER. ONCE AGAIN GOD HAS GIVEN US THE FOUNDATION OF LOVE WE NEED, HERE AT BFH. 145 THIS IS THE WAY WE REMEMBER THE SENIORS!
