Ideals are products of the past. The PRESENT lasts momentarily. From second to second, changes are made so that the today becomes part of the past. It is during the present that work is done toward ideals. Therefore, work must be carefully done with great foresight. The PRESENT is essentially a stepping stone between the firm groundwork of the past and the unknown current of the future. AND The “hot lips” of B.F.H. The “mum” assembly line. The People of B.F.H. know the value of a Catholic Education. They spend their limited time in giving us Bishop Forest High School. The only personal profit they receive is knowing that they contributed to the future of the young, who will continue in their footsteps. These people and many more are to be admired and thanked. HE'S ONE OF THE BEST! This man belongs among the green and white of Bishop Forest High School. He stands strongly for what he feels is right and is not in- fluenced by a turning tide. He gives every bit of himself to keep spirit in the school he loves. From chaplain, to counselor, to athletic director, to coach, he is more than any institution could ask for. You couldn’t find a more friendly heart in which to confide in. They say the world is full of great men, but he is in a different category; and that is the greatest. REVEREND MICHAEL O'GORMAN 33rd President HARRY S. TRUMAN 34th President DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER by Walt Whitman Oh Captain! my Captain! Our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather’d every rack. The prize we sought is won. The port is near, the bells I hear, Tnc people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel. The vessel grim and daring; But O heart! heart! heart! O the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead. My Captain does not answer, His lips are pale and still. My father does not feel my arm, He has no pulse nor will. The ship is anchored safe and sound, Its voyage, closed and done, From fearful trip the victor ship Comes in with object won; Exult O shores and ring O bells! But I with mournful tread, Walk the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead. O Captain! my Captain! Rise up and hear the bells; Rise up—for you the flag is flung— For you the bugle trills, For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths— For you the sores a’crowding. For you they call, the swaying mass. Their eager faces turning; Here Captain! dear father! My arm beneathe your head! It is some dream that on the deck, You’ve fallen cold and dead.
