y - Silvascope Published by the Senior Class Bishop Forest High School Schulenburg, Texas 2 Dedication The Annual Staff dedicates this third edition of the Silvascope to Larry Bartosh, Jimmy Hajovsky, and Herbert Lee Zimmermann, who were killed in a tragic automo- bile accident in early April. For three years these boys were a part of Bishop Forest. It seems they were called to God when their lives had hardly begun. But their high school days were brought to an end abruptly--their work was satisfactorily completed at the early age of 16. IN MEMORY LAWRENCE (LARRY) BARTOSH JIMMY HAJOVSKY HERBERT LEE ZIMMERMANN •’'I - .v ■ V . '•Sa '■ WHEREAS, The communities of Schulenburg and Weimar and the State of Texas and the student body of Bishop Forest High School and their families, as well as a host of friends, suf- fered a tragic loss on Wednesday, April 4, 1961, when an automobile accident took the young, energetic and vigorous lives of Lawrence (Larry) Bartosh, Jimmy Hajovsky, and Herbert Lee Zimmermann; and WHEREAS, Ours is not to question the infinite wisdom of God; and WHEREAS, The time spent on this earth by these fine, devoted, upright young men was brief, yet each in his own way left records of accomplishment and achievement in their homes, their Church, their school and their communities, which by any standard were exemplary and challenging to all who knew them; and WHEREAS, Lawrence (Larry) Bartosh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kunz, was bom October 13, 1944, at La Grange. He was a student at Bishop Forest High School, where he was treasurer of the Library Club and reporter of the Junior Class...; and WHEREAS, Jimmy Hajovsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Hajovsky, was born December 24, 1944, in Schulenburg. He had attended Saint Rose Catholic School. He was a junior at Bishop Forest High School where he was on the baseball team, and a member of the Bishop Forest Choral Club, Saint John’s KJT Society, and Rangers Football Club. During his junior year he could not take an active part in athletic sports due to undergoing a delicate heart operation in December of I960, from which he regained his health and was again playing base- ball on the Bishop Forest High School team...; and WHEREAS, Herbert Lee Zimmermann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Zimmermann, was born September 27, 1944, at Columbus. He was a student at Bishop Forest High where he was a member of the CYO and of the school football team...; and WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas by this Memorial Resolution joins with the student body of Bishop Forest High School and their many, many other friends in extending to the members of the families of Lawrence (Larry) Bartosh, Jimmy Hajovsky, and Herbert Lee Zimmermann, our heartfelt sympathy in the untimely passing of such outstanding sons of Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 57th Legislature adjourn today in memory of the lives of these three fine young men;...
