X, S ei 7 Wigan' 3 o ganifea, joofdaf meanzi I9 ydicaf 5Lif, Bishop Egan football grew slowly at first. ln its first year of existence, our football team, composed of sophomores only, compiled an un- enviahle 0-4 record, without scoring a single touchdown. The following year, the Eagles did score, but the coveted first victory never came. We had to he content with one tie, while sul'- lering through eight defeats, most of them played in weather which was anything hut lavoralole. Last year's climate improved, and so did the Eagles. Bishop Egan's football team, under Coaches Mr. Richard Bedesem and Mr. John Lawn, tasted victory for the first time, and found it to their liking, as they won four more contests, on a schedule noted for its ruggedness. That small sophomore squad laid the ground- worlc for the giant who will never stop growing in alaility and sportsmanship, the Bishop Egan Football Team.
