X Mary Ellen Ha gan 0 gm! 0 Qlleth JO? U0 youd v After fifteen brief years of life on earth, Mary Ellen Hagan has attained that ultimate goal for which we all strive and must continue to strive after, perhaps for many years . . . Heaven. Swift, secure, and saintly was the moment of her going home to God. How could it have been otherwise since Our Blessed Mother had a particular interest in lVlary Ellen? Given Our Lady's name in Baptism, attending a grade school espe- cially dedicated to Gods Holy lxflother under the title of The Immacu- late Conception. Mary E.llen's deep love and devotion to our Heavenly Queen, had been instilled. in early childhood, and grew with her as she advanced in wisdom, age and grace. From her own dear lVlother's example, Mary Ellen had learned the value of saying The Hail lVlary in time of danger or anxiety. How fitting, then, that on February second, the Feast of Our l..ady's Purification, Maw Ellen's soul was purified for the last time from the least stain through the Last Rites ol the Church, and thus prepared to he presented to the Lord. Those of us who lmew and loved Mary Ellen, especially in her Home- room Section, feel deeply honored that God has chosen one of us to he the First Bishop Egan Student. to he numbered among the Blessed. We lmow, too, that it is because God loves Mary Ellen very much that He chose her. ln our hearts we will ever cherish her: in our prayers we will ever remember her: in our needs we will pray to her, for we lcnow Mary Ellen is a saint hecause Mary Ellen is with God.
