Our newspaper was dubbed The Troubadourn in 1957 after numerous suggestions and voting on the part of the students. The name was chosen in honor of Gods Little Troubadour. St. Francis, the school patron. ln its initial year mrhe Trouhaclourn toolc its First steps under the direction of Sr. lvl. Claudine, l.H.lVl., and was published three times. The following year, Sr. Rita Nlary, C.R.S.lVl.. toolt the reins, and guided the paper through four publications and its enrollment in the Quill and Scroll, the International Honor Society for High School Journalists. The present editors, awarded scholarships to train at Catholic University in Wasliington, D. C., for the summer of 1959, have, with the staff and moderator, Sr, Nlary, presented seven editions of The Trouhadourn this year. Walking the Torvian Way has not been a new experience for us, hut trying to cap- ture the many facets of school life as it unfolds each day. and hind them within the covers of a hooic is a new idea. The dream of this yearhoolc, our TORVIAN. he-came a reality last year as Sister Mary Nolasco and eager memhers of the Junior Class formulated definite plans for their '15, IF senior hook. The work continued through. our senior year as, patiently working away each day in the ivy toweredn Torvian Room on the fourth floor, we met the chai- ienge that yearloooic production demands and, in the end, emerged victoriousiy dis- playing Bishop Egan's First Yearhooir.
