Bishop Egan has accomplished the almost unhe- lievahle, hy producing three separate bands, each worthy of distinction and deserving of the highest commendation. For hard work, self-sacrifice, and school spirit the students comprising these groups are unparalleled. Organized and sparked through the combined efforts of Father Frederic, T.O.R. fmoderatorl. lxflr. Kenneth Lesniclc. Band Director, and Nlr. Vvilliam Quilty. Drill Nlaster, the Nlarching Band captured Five trophies during the i950-l960 season. Numbering approximately eighty-five instru- ments, the Concert Band has succeeded in captur- ing the hearts of all Bishop Egan music-lovers, while to the inimitable rhythmic Dance Band goes the distinction of having brought the very first music award home to the school. So. crowding around the phone we fp. Bainbridge. J. NNhelan, C. Nlellus, M. E. Ollwlalley. and S. Fosterl, called long distance . . . Spring Grove, Pennsylvania . . . and excitedly exclaimed . . . Director ol the Drill Team and Color Guard, played a major role in this success story nl' the Bishop Egan Marching Band.
