Rapideers Capture Second Nab Duggan-Shanley Trophy DUFFY 32 CANISIUS 'I9 Duffy opened its football season at Hyde Park Stadium with a 32-19 victory over a stubborn Canisius team, Duffy's powerful offense broke the ice in the second period and held the lead until the fourth period when an inspired Canisius tied the score T9-l9. But then Marty Felice saved the day for the Rapideers with his third and fourth touch- downs of the game. Jack Ozyp scored the other Duffy T.D. DUFFY 46 DOUGHERTY 0 In their second game of the season the Rapideers' power literally demolished an inexperienced Cardinal Dougherty team 46-0 at Hyde Park Stadium. DUFFY 6 TIMON 0 Civic Stadium was the scene of the 6-0 taming of the Timon Tigers by Duffy in a hard fought game. This was Duffy's third straight victory. The lone T.D. was made on a 44-yard pass from Rich Con- dino to Marty Felice. DUFFY 0 LEW-PORT 7 Just like 1958's game Lew-Port knocked Duffy from the un- beaten ranks with a heart-breaking 7-0 score under the lights at Hyde Park Stadium. Unlike l958's l3-l2 loss on a fourth quarter fumble, fate struck early with a 53-yard touchdown pass from Lewiston- Porter's Rich King to Jim Lugert on the third play from scrim- mage in the game. Several times the Rapideers came within the shadow of Lew-Port's goal line only to be repelled each time by an inspired Lancer defense. 54 ROW ONE: E. Ellis, S, Marino, B. Atamian, J. Gabriele, J.
