If ,,,,,..4vn4 In this progressive world growing corporations and expanding business firms loom large As a result, there is an ever increasing need for men and women to fill key positions in these firms. The high school business courses aim to train future business men and women for the various types of work needed to make a successful business. BUSINESS The program consists of shorthand, typing, bookkeeping, secretarial and clerical training. The operation of the latest types of business machines is also taught. After graduation seniors are ready to take their place in business. They are prepared to fulfill the job ahead of them. The employer has confidence in his new employee because he knows of the fine business training his new employee has received in high school. Taking the business course enables many a young person to be useful to society. 15

The hreathless heauty of a dew-dotted lily, the burning intensity of a streak of tolor, the grace, the harmony, the movement of line, compose the world in whit h our art students move. Any student with ahility may elect art. Landscape, porttaitute and fashion design, as well as ceramics, are included in the course of art. Drawing a piiturc-'of a lifeless statue may not seem like an easy task but with Sister Celestine and Sister Rose Marie at your side, it's an entirely different story. Alunior and senior hoys who learn drafting are concerned with beauty and with accurac y of line. The lwoys in shop experience the thrill of making things. HOMEM KI G 5555 i A if W Homemaking class eomhines Christian living and family life and pre- pares girls for the comprehensive tasks which they will be expected to perform as homemakers. Many of the girls were shoeked the first day of Class hy the varied roles a good homemaker must fill: culinary expert, professional financier, recreation leader, home nurse, and interior decorator. The phrase just a housewife was definitely ruled out as the answer to a wife and mother's oeeupation. The realization that all the girls would someday he molding small, helpless creatures into good Christian men and women requires much more than being just a housewife.
