Sophs face year of change I he sophomore year is a year of change. It is taking a more active role in the school. The freshman year is a year of learn- ing, of being new and watching the upper classmen and learning what is proper. In becoming a sophomore, you are no longer new to your surroundings. There is another class below watching and learning. Sopho- mores are thrust into new roles as teachers and therefore need to be more responsible for their actions. The only classes that were different from the freshman year were geometry and world T. Adkisson M. Albers J. Alford G. Alvey R. Aubrey L. Ballard C. Bartley P. Barton D. Basham T. Beirne L. Berger S. Term papers were written for the first time for history and English classes and two Vietnamese refugee students attended some sophomore classes. Sophomores move slowly up. As the page is turned on the grade book of life, the only difference is two hundred new faces called freshmen. At the end of the year it is two down and two to go. Sophomores come in third in everything from Field Day to regis- tration for Try- It-Week. The outside world is still far away when looking to the end of a high school career. Tfc ftft 82 SOPHS

Sophomoritis? jeing a sophomore in high school pro- duces a malady known as sophomore-itis which is caused by several factors. Sopho- mores are the last to go to lunch and by the time they get to the lunchroom, everything is just about gone. There is a madness which comes upon sophomores at the age of 16 when cars and being able to get a driver ' s license are at the top of the list of priorities. Teachers need to be patient with sopho- mores because this malady needs to be treated with patience and understanding. Be- coming juniors helps to relieve the symp- toms of this never-fatal disease P. Heuser G. Hobbs M. Hogan S. Hogan M. House S. Hunter D. Hutti D. Jolly J. Kaelin M. Keene M. Kelly D Key J. King J.
