In a year when tensions in the community were high, with busing demonstrators lining the highway and na- tional guardsmen at neigh- boring high schools. Bishop David was a haven of sereni- ty for those first few months at the beginning of school. After all this was the year of our country ' s bicentennial. Spirit and pride remained the Falcon way of life and the students found that the Bis- hop David experience was the best teacher. Mmmm, boy, that milk is good! says Jody Leonard as he starts at the day with milk and doughnuts in the cafeteria along with quick cram- ming for a test. Not wanting to be out of fashion, Kevin Stoltz wears one of the latest fashion fads, a cap that is really with it , to a basketball game. 4 OPENING

The steely coldness of a radiator is deceiving for during those cold winter months its warmth per- vades the atmosphere of the classroom. Although the enrollment in- creased, organizations felt a de- cline in members as students rushed on to part time jobs at the final bell and attendance at basketball games fell off from previous years. Academic life went on as usual with few major changes in the curriculum. Looking up vocabulary words was the order of the day ' s Spanish class for Mike House. OPENING
