Dy-no-m te defense prevails DESALES — Catholic rival, DeSales was next to step in line against the mighty Fal- cons in the annual Keg Game. DeSales, with Jim Kennedy as their new coach, was a much-improved team, as well as a highly regarded one. Both teams played good ball and Bishop David could only manage ten points from the stubborn Colts, while allow- ing them none. The Falcons seemed on their way, while setting a new defensive record of five consecutive shutouts. The Falcons ' defensive unit, directed by Coach Dan Leasor, had much to do with the team ' s fine 11-1 record. The unit was the No. 1 defense in the state of Kentucky, giving up only 27 points in 12 games. They also set 4 new school records and tied one. They were: the least yards given up rushing (510), most fumbles caused (32), most shut- outs in a season (9), and the most consecu- tive shutouts (5). The record which was tied was the least touchdown passes thrown against the Falcons ' secondary (1). RIGHT: 00, Bill Whitlock, readies the defense against Manual while 66, Tim Huber, gets set in a hard-fought District win. BELOW: Dennis Geragh- ty, 25, and Richard Ramirez, 82, attempt to block a punt by Doss ' Mark Harvey in the mud fight 10-7 victory.
