Kfvcrtnd J»ihn V. Cusf;n) c Viic-primipal My dear Graduates , May the happiness of four successful years as Conaty girls be yours for all the years to come. Remember the happiness - it came from many sources: the kind Sisters, devoted teachers, the unselfish classmates, the school spirit of sacrifice to help others , the willingness to do more than just our part. All these have made Bishop Conaty High School a happy place as well as a great school. Remember, it was when you gave of your- selves that you were rewarded a hundredfold in happiness. Remember what was taught about success. It is not the honor roll, not the high office, not the high esteem of faculty or classmates. Success is living in the grace of God, close to Him and His Mother by the frequent reception of the sacraments, fulfilling our obligations to Him, ourselves and our neighbor for love of Him. Truly, this is being a real success. May Our Lady, Queen of Women, bless you, the Conaty Graduates of 1964, with happiness and success for all the years ahead. Sincerely in Christ, s; JU c ' 10

I)isli(i|) (ioiHily MiMiKirial High Siluiul 2900 Wfst Pico Uoulp.vard I.os Angeles 6, California republic 4-9108 Office of the Principal My dear Graduates, With each year all men give a certain contribution to the society in which they live. It is always hoped that the contribution will be a good one because by nature all men want to do and to receive good things, St. Paul in his Epistle to the Galatians tells us: In doing good let us not grow tired: for in due time we shall reap if we do not relax. As you leave your high school days behind you there are many good things that have happened which are the foundation for doing good today, and when tomorrow is here to continue this good. Your high school experiences have prepared you in a very small way to know something of what is expected of you as you begin to take your places in the world as mature, young women. In God ' s good design you have been fashioned and tailored to the goodness of God Himself. By observation you can easily understand that goodness is within people themselves , and that this is merely a share of the life of God within them . Vitality and freshness are the characteristics of young people, but young people need the direction of those who understand real goodness of life and the goodness of young people. Your parents and your teachers up until now have been to the best of their ability a helping agent for all your goodness. Now you must as good, young women give and lead others to goodness. The more you give of yourselves as good women, the more you are establishing God ' s goodness in this world. Our Divine Lord came into the world in order that He might give an in- crease of life to all who would accept Him. Your Catholic education has b een centered in this purpose of Christ, so that you might be able to say with St. Paul: I live now, not I, but Christ lives in me. As Christian young women you have seen the image of Christ in others; now it is your turn to be an image of Christ for others. With this in mind you can do a great deal of good and you can bring to yourselves a great amount of happi- ness as long as you do not tire of doing good. The benefits of your giving goodness through your good works will not be known as surely in this life as they will be in the world to come. Join then the experiences for good of your high school days with the good things of today so that tomorrow . . .you shall reap, as St. Paul tells us, if you do not relax. God bless you. • . (
