Reverend John Reilly Principal My dear Seniors: As the shadows of each day fall, the world looks forward to the morning and its brightness. You are about to see the last shadows fall in the corridors of the school of your youth. The brightness of tomorrow always de- pends on the personal outlook of each individual. You will cast many shadows, but the important matter is how and where you will shadow yourselves. The world today looks forward to the good that people can do. The shadow of goodness is indeed a desirable effect for all of us. The Faculty of Bishop Conaty High School here attempted to lead you to the things which give of good- ness. It is now your responsibility to take this goodness and through your actions shadow to the world the good which is in you. The Church of which you share is the principal source of goodness because of its Divine founda- tion by Christ. It is then the source of all goodness. There is nothing more effective in the society of men than a good woman. A woman who is for all the ful- fillment of God's wish and desire constitutes the concrete good in the world. Wtmnianhood is by its nature in God's desire the instrument for goodness. Each of you shares in this sacred heritage and as Christian women, the world will be better for your influence. The Shadow of Our Lady in this year of anniversary is one which we hope and pray will constantly dominate your lives. With Christ as the Image and His Blessed Mother as the Mirror, no woman can abandon the influence of such a striking shadow. God bless you, Q E gf ,

Symbolizing the powers of the priest, the benediction blessing falls on over 1,100 girls daily. Maintaining positions as principal and vice-principal, Father john Reilly and Father Joseph Sartoris serve as Conaty's head administrators. Providing material counsel and spiritual guidance, they lose no opportunity to advise and direct their students. Instructing classes in apologetics and marriage, Father Reilly and Father Sartoris turn their teachings toward the spiritual and mental development of every soul placed in their care. Father Joseph Sartoris, vice-principal , leaves no room for a shadow of doubt when teaching his senior apologetics and marriage classes. To keep attendance records straight, Sister Mary As- sumpta, S.M,, records the daily attendance. As Dean of the Upper Division, Sister also spends much time advising and assisting girls in their day to day problems. Of the many influences which aid in shaping the student at Conaty none casts a greater shadow than the guiding hand of the faculty. So it is that each graduate looks back with gratitude to the understanding and interest of her teachers, religious and lay. From their instruction and example she has learned the joy of living in the shadow of His love. Who serve unto the Sister Mary Ruth, S.M., Dean of the Lower Division, finds the tele- phone a valuable aid for keeping in touch with parents concerning the welfare of their daughters.
