We, the Senior Class of 195 9, humbly dedicate our yearbook to Pope Pius XII. Appropriate indeed is this dedication, for Pope Pius XII is truly the model of Christian joy. The fairest of all Godls gifts that passes all understanding is the peace that all men of feeling cannot but strive for . . . Pius XII, his heart open to the world, attained this peace in his own soul. 7 Nm -CSN -M-., We, as Christian women, have inherited an ahunf dance of high praise and moral guidance from our beloved Father He tells us that Woman, in her proper place . . . exercises quietly a powerful inflf encef' She is the joy of life to her husband and her children. As we enter now our new adult life, our hearts thrill to his inspiring message: The future belongs to those who love. .sf Page 4

Our hearts are young and gay. They were, they are, and they always will be young with the blush of youth and gay with the happy anticipation of life. Our book will keep this theme throughout its pages. We will try to reflect the merriment that we, as Chris' tians, possess. The Holy Spirit has blessed us with the promise of eternal youth and the gift of joy, and we shall try to present a living evidence of this joy in our yearbook. As each senior leaves school, she leaves more than a mere building. She leaves behind her girlhood memo- ries to enter the world of womanhood. RO Page 3

Although teachers are sometimes pictured as prim, unyielding individuals who darken each day, our own faculty is a part of the joy in each of our hearts. They were always available to supply answers to our many questions and their wise counsel was there for the asking. The eager smiles and willing hearts of our faculty were never out to lunchl' or not to be disturbed. They shared our enthusiasms in passing a test, or in winning a basketball game. Our teachers, too, are young in heart. Perhaps this comes partly from their contact with young people. But it is mainly in their Christian attitude toward life. They are not afraid of living. They say to life: Welcome. We will probably forget many of the things our teachers taught us by their words. We hope we shall never forget the lesson of their lives. Page 5
