Californio PAGE FROM A DIARY Going home with just Enough money to pay the ticket Agent and exchange necessities With women anchored to the Half hour rest stops, the excursionist Leaves his visions of a I.ong untouched birthplace under The scat on the bus With cigarette butts and other Articles left behind by Those before him And postpones the journey to Pick fiowers from the gardens Of small towns along the way Where safe people w ith professional Smiles welcome him into homes Where he can never belong. I cannot explain what I feel inside, nor can I decipher what I see on the outside, boiling hot with emotions. I run. Where. I don't care, as long as I can get away to no place Mark C NATURESCENE I stood smiling at the world, and All its contents, taking in the moistncssof the tickling spring rain. As it splashed my face. Stooping to Smell a young flower, kissed with Brilliance of color, and fragrance: a I-adybug flew by. Blades of grass Standing tall and proud the bending To and fro w ith the gentle list of breeze: So gentle on my mind. Whirling the Aroma of the moist earth, smelling So light and airy The world seemed at peace, no one rushing: stepping with ease. Trces rescaling what's theirs and the Flarthinessof the earth so real.
