Pan-Hellenic Council The National Pan-Hellenic Council was organized in May, 1930 at Howard University, Washington, D. C. The charter members were: Kappa Alpha Psi and Omega Psi Phi Fraternities, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta Sororities. In 1931 Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternities ioined the Council and in i937 Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority completed the list of organizations that continues to comprise the affiliate orga- nizations of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. The stated purpose of the organization in l93O was, Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek Letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider prob- lems of mutual interest to its member organizations. The Bishop College Chapter consists of representatives from chap- ters of each of the affiliate organizations. Officers of the local chap- ter are Jackie Edmunds, chairman, Lucious New, Jr., vice chairman, Consuella Payne, secretary-treasurer. Faculty sponsors are Mrs. T. C. Brown and Mr. Wilbur Titus. i l4l
