JOUR ALISM The Journalism Club, in its first year ot operation, had the arduous assignment of publishing a regular school news- paper. During the first semester of the school year, the club was organized and orientated in the proper methods of producing a quality newspaper. Then in the second semes- ter, the training proved to be worthwhile as the Carroll Crier began to roll off the presses in monthly editions. The Carroll Crier serves the student body as the main news medium for all phases of life at B.C.H.S. Through the editorials and the feature and human interest articles, it provides an excellent opportunity tor students to express themselves creatively and enlivens a more energetic school spirit among the students. ' 193- Sister Melita outlines the next edition of the Carroll Crier with Pat Zablinsky, art editor, and co-editors, Lellie Fulchiero and Tony Skomra. l i The Crier writers smile with satisfaction at the completion of their first edition. Its purposes are to form Christian leaders of virtuous characters and to christianize teenage society by training its members as student apostles. A regular Y.C.S. meeting consists of a liturgy discussion and a social inquiry. During the discussion, the students analyze some passages from Sacred Scripture. In the inquiry they discuss the facts, causes, and efforts of various con- ditions atfronting teenage society and decide upon a course of group action designed to improve these conditions among themselves and their classmates.
