Nancy Borene . Charles Courville The 1966 Senior Class of Bishop Byrne High School presented the play The Perfect Idiot”. The comedy play was directed by Miss Joan LeTulle, Moderator of Bishop Byrne High Drama Club, and was assisted by student di- rector, Nancy Borne. The Senior Play, a farce in three acts, relates the complex problem of an ambitious young boy genius. Dan, the boy genius, conspires with fellow classmates to help the star athlete. Puff, pass his exams and in return the students help Dan to become popular so that his parents may permit him to attend college in the fall. How this plot was accom- plished is what lends humor and reality to the play. Sincere appreciation goes to all Seniors who helped pre- sent such a successful play. Special thanks go to the chairman of the Scenery Committee, Harold Daire, for working so untiringly during the play. Recognition also goes to Bernie Deveney, prompter, and Kathy Bourque, co-ordinator. 103

Mrs. Dorothy Smith discussed the various fields of nursing at the Future Nurses Banquet. Sister James Philip presented the outstanding award to Nelwyn Guidry for serving 500 hours. Others who received awards were: Mary Helen Lejeune, Sherry Sonnier, Barbara Sudela, Gay Bergeron, Ginger Durio, Kathy Durso, Norma Paine and Kathy Landry. Mrs. Dorothy Waldron is club Sponsor, and Gloria Ortego is President. Members of the Debate Club include Mr. Fontana, sponsor, Mike Logan, Dennis Placette, Hal Bourque, Carl Courville, A1 Prudhomme, Larry Fontana, Sister Mary Perpdtua, co-sponsor, Christine Seni, Cynthia Ledger, and Kathy McGill. The members enjoyed and participated in many lively debates during the year. 105
