Administration and faculty willingness to improve Christian attitudes paves the way for a better Boyle future. Teacher-pupil relationships grow into person-to-person interactions in class and extracurricular affairs. Christian growth is the bond between faculty and students to provide a circuit of communications. Both are linked five hours in an association to learn relevant concern and vibrant involvement with each other.  1965—Name is of- ficially changed from Bishop Boyle to Boyle. Black Gold Day and Ring Day ceremonies begin. Red Cross wins its first a- ward and the National Hon- or Society is initiated. The “Lance” newspaper in its first year of publication wins the first class Journalism Award from the University of Pittsburgh. Boyle, today, is a mosaic of memorable events throughout the school’s 10 year history- 7963—February 9th Bishop Boyle High School is of- ficially dedicated by the Most Reverend John J. Wright. Boyle completes its first full year under Headmaster Father Conboy. Tu- ition is $100 and enrollment is 148. 1964—Steel Valley and Schwab Technical schools are intro- duced into the curriculum along with the Business Department. The Li- brary is added un- der Sister Mary Patricia. 1966— The first graduating class has its ceremony in Saint Mary’s Church. The first Homecoming includes a Sunday Breakfast for the Alumni. Student Council holds the first Mardi Gras. Wrestling and Golf are added to the athletic program. 1967— Father Robert Habe becomes Headmas- ter. The Band receives new uniforms and make their first public appearance in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. 1968— The Drama Club under the di- rection of Mr. Tgorko Fantazo pro- duces “Hay Fever”. The Basket- ball team places second behind undefeated Canevin in the Catholic class “A” league competition. Coach Scully leads his football team into the Catholic League Playoffs with an 8-2 record. The Lan- cer Band under Mr. Belles is the first high school band ever to play on the steps of the Cap- itol in Washington D.C. 1970—New black and gold uniforms are introduced by the freshmen class. Ruben Rodriquez, a transfer student from Puerto Rico, leads the Lancer Basketball team to one of the best seasons in the school’s history. 1971—“Romeo and Juliet” is produced by the Sen- ior class with help from Mrs. Flesch and Mr. Bo- binski. Anna Marie Giovannini becomes the first girl to be elected Student Council President. 1972—A new scheduling system and a remodeled gym,and cafeteria greet students in September. The Boyle Athletics Association independently maintains the sports program. Tuition is $375 and enrollment is 557. 1973. .. 1969—The “Class of 73” invades Boyle as Freshmen. r-t BIS HOF HIGH $ The 10th Anniversary of Boyle High School
