Crunch! Crunch! Crunch! We won five and lost four. It was a long, hard- fought campaign. Football at Boyle has always been a rough road. When the bus made it to the practice field, the coaches did and we did too... the train- ers and water didn't always get there. We anxiously awaited game time to ex- perience the soft cushion of a grass field. All right you guys, get moving! That's horsefeathers! Out of the shade into the heat: off your fannies and on your feet! Shout! Shout! Shout! Coaches try to reach your brain through your skull, rather than your ears. We made it but it wasn't easy. For every action there was an equal reaction. We're dead tired coach; let’s call it. You do the playing; I'll do the coaching. Let's try it again. 34 Wham! Schweinberg, that was 34 Wham! Let's try it again. Let's try it again. The statistics tell the story. New Brighton trounced us. They were big. They were better. The re- maining three losses to Greensburg, Mon Valley, and Carroll could have been ours. Look at the record: 1st. D. Yds. R. Yds. P. Boyle 16 90 275 Greensburg 20 225 146 Boyle 12 109 28 Mon Valley 10 89 131 Boyle 10 95 60 Carroll 3 53 79 What happened? At this time, it's elusive and legendary. Success may be determined by game scores but its true measure is in the hearts and minds of the coaches and players who gave their best.
