Yes, we are really and truly seniors, and. if we seem a bit cocky and superior, the hard work we spent in turning out a really good BARAGAN should more than make up for it. The yearbook begins as no more actually than a financial headache! Ads mustbe solicited. ex, patrons and boosters obtained, and the whole budget carefully worked out. This was done by business managers, George Raish and Mike Hayes. The ad section was our first deadline. Mike and George worked it out aided by Francis Reynolds and Carol De- Rusha. After the finances had been taken care of, the work of the publicity managers began. This year's managers, Jerry King and Sharron December, were able to make tl'1e 1954 BARAGAN drive the most suc- cessful ever held at Baraga. Om wwjmecfa 44524214 Then came the big job--that of deciding and working out a theme, taking the pictures, fitting them on the pages attractively, and writing interesting copy. This was the job ofthe editors. There were times when Con- nie Jorns. editor-in-chief, wondered just what would be the answer to the query Georgia Parker, underclass editor posed: Will our s Q BARAGAN win the All Catholic and the Al1 State awards merited by the '53 an- nual? Margaret Riopelle, make-up editor, had trouble getting a layout for those senior pages to suitMary Courtney, the Senior Class editor. The heaviest portion of copy writing at the busiest time of the year fell to Ellen Thoren, editor of the activities section. X
