Surrounded by oaks, beautiful with age, stands our beloved Alma Mater. For many years its doors have stood aiar, beckoning to all those who seek to learn. Biscoe High School is the oldest state- supported school in North Carolina. Mrs. Beu- lah Harrington Burt, grandmother of one of the seniors, was the first teacher in Biscoe High. lt would be indeed difficult to express our heartfelt appreciation for the many opportuni- ties which have been ours during these seem- ingly short twelve years. We are proud of the heritage of our school and hope that each succeeding senior class will leave it an en- riched legacy of love and service. As seniors, our prayer for Biscoe High School is that God's richest blessings may continue to rest upon it, upon all who tarry within its walls, and upon .all who seek for its growth and progress.

l ,Q Dedicated to the Memory of Mrs. Bertha Hicks and Mr. B. D. Drake Mrs. Bertha Hicks and Mr. B. D. Drake, to whose memory we gratefully dedicate the l95l year- book, Memories, symbolize to us thef loyalty and consecration of lives devoted to the building of strong minds, strong bodies, and strong characters among the stu- dents who throughout the years have passed through the portals of Biscoe High School. It is impossible to summarize the lasting impressions made by these true friends upon the lives of the young people of Biscoe. Truly they were bridge build- ers, and our feet will tread safely and fearlessly the path- ways of life because ofthe shin- ing examples of their lives, so fruitfully and abundantly lived among us. In sincere appreciation of all that they did for our school as they passed this way, we lovingly dedicate this book. To live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die. 3 5 1-ovwwwdbwiiww . ,WA -Q X 1 , ., . wg. yy, . if i I , 5.
