You'll never guess who came In to have her hair done last week. Who? Clndv Beversdorf. I guess she's a professor at the University In Madison. She told me that Karen Rastl, the University's psychiatrist. Is working on a most unusual case, John Rastl. I believe he's still having trouble with his Bed Baron. On our way up north last-weekend, we missed a turn and ended up at a ranger station. Hie head ranger Is Tom Nemke, of all oeople ! Tom I I Yes, and Ray Resch Is his assistant. He helps Smoky stamp our forest fires. Oh, and while we were on a nature hike, I slipped and sprained my ankle. Guess who I ran into at the hospital. Not Bonita Schmitt II Yes, and Janice Stadler. too. They turned out to be really fine nurses. Peter Krult was In there too, with a broken nose. It seems he got It caught In the basketball net going for a lay-up. Speaking of professionals, I read In the paper yesterday that Joe Koerner's new invention, boneless fish, finally got a parent. Randy Ten Haken's great knowledge of physics and chemistry helped him considerably. In the financial section of the paper, I noticed that John Beversdorf was awarded the title, Businessman of the Month. I also read that Ronnie Dlckman bought the Schlltz Brewery. It's the same company whose stock he followed In his last year In school, and It was doing, so well that he decided to Invest. Danny Praslowlcz. his partner, does all the selling. Chuck Buss made the headlines last week. He bought out the Chicago Playboy Club with his Standard Oil profits. LeRoy Ploeger Is his truck driver and In his spare time he sells antique cars. When we consulted our lawyer, John Leithan, about a problem, we found out chat his secre- tary Is Mary Machmueller. We had a nice talk. I guess John Is giving Perry Mason pretty stiff competition. Perry's secretary Is Judy Mundt. “I heard that Larry Lex, David Schalrer. Hon Korblsch, and Keith Frederick now have suoh large dairy farms that they are supplying 95$ of the nation's milk. Speaking of farms, Paul Pruess has the biggest horse ranch In the state of Wisconsin. I was In Wausau recently, and I met Pat Qpper and Marlene Hasll In the dime store. They both work at Employer1s. Pat got married Just about the time Judy Wlokman did. They told me that Mary Hetzel, Sharon Resch. Judy Plerzchalskl. and Patsy Kareka enjoy working at the new factory next to Employer's Mutuals so well, that they bought out the owners and now are all In business together. Ken Krause runs the computers and Mike Fischer Is the superintendent of the factory. Oh, It looks like your car Is ready. Be sure to stop In next time you're In Madison and I'll fix your hair for you on the house. I'm going to take you up on that. Bye!! Bye I Class History Freshman (spring) Spring is the time of all new and growing things, fresh in their newness to all of life. What is more fitting, then, that the freshman, in this time of life enter school. In the fall of 1961+ we began the school year with 38 students. Class officers were: Tom Nemke, president; Pat Meyer, vice president; Karen Rastl, secretary; Randy TenHaken, treasurer. We were initiated by the sophomore class and we gave them a return party. Sophomore (summer) The March winds and April showers brought forth an abundance of May flowers, and summertime came upon us almost before we knew it. We held our heads very high, and we kept the stalks that supported them very straight. They were not yet very heavy with their accum- ulation of wisdom and 30 did not droop with the weight. There were 36 students in class at the beginning of our sopho- more year, 1965. We ordered our class rings this year, and on May 16 we held the post prom. Our class officers were: Pat Meyer, president; Peter Kruit, vice president; Karen Rastl, secretary; Mike Fischer, treasurer. Junior (fall) As juniors, very brilliant was our foliage, as the little buds of the freshman year, grown into the flowers of sophomore development became the richer, more necessary and satisfying fruit of autumn. It was the harvest of all our early planting—the reaping of the results of all our dreams and hopes and efforts. Now, as juniors, we anxiously awaited the day when we received our class rings. Our Prom was held on May 6, 1967. It was entitled Sayonara and our king was Larry Lex. He chose as his queen Pat Meyer. Jimmy Stieber and his Orchestra provided the music. The gym was decorated with cherry blossoms and Japanese lanterns. We had an enrollment of 35 students, and our class officers were: Peter Kruit, president; Keith Frederick, vice president; Karen Rastl, secretary; Bonita Schmitt, treasurer. Senior (winter) The fruit was all gathered and stored away within our memories and with the snows of all past in hoary wisdom upon our heads, we welcome the approach of winter. It seems a sadder time than we ex- pected. The world outside is cold. We know not what to expect from its bleak, black atmosphere. Our last year finally arrived, and we started the year with 31 students. Our class officers and annual staff were chosen as follows: Class officers: Joe Koerner, president; Mike Fischer, vice president; Bonita Schmitt, secretary; Mary Machmueller, treasurer. Annual staff: Karen Rastl and Tom Nemke, Co-editors; Cindy Beversdorf, Business manager; Bonita Schmitt and Randy TenHaken, Assistant business managers. On October 9, 1967 we went to Wausau to have our graduation pictures taken. Blue and gold are our class colors, and the yellow rose is our class flower. We selected the Northernaire as the high point of our senior year for our class trip. Our class motto is We have crossed the bay; the ocean lies before us. Farewell Four years is a long time —too long to forget. We look around and ask —where did it go? We worked, we played —but for four years? Then we look the other way --into tomorrow. Suddenly we're not so tall as we thought we were And not so smart. But we find that somehow We learned a decisive lesson at BHS: something we wouldn't have had without the teachers, without the other students —a direction into that uncertain tomorrow. It can never be so dark again Though the world may change and the times change and we change.
