The theme of the dance was Some Enchanted Evening with music orovided by the Fl-Lande s Orchestra. The Grand March began at 11:00, leading it were crownbearers Jennifer Scbroeder and Allen Szews. Following the march was the crowning of the new King and Queen, Don Jensen and Gwen Kaufmann; by the former King and Oueen, John Knauf and Lorraine Pietz. The couples danced in the romantic atmosphere of an enchanted park, A cobblestone path-en- circled the dance floor. Several park benches and lamp posts were placed along the path. A small garden with shrubs was appropriately placed in the center of the gymnasium. A white railing gave the stage a balc.ony effect, with a huge moon and stars in the background. The court of honor consisted of reore- sentatives of each class, namely: Seniors; Steve Kimball and Karen Kaufmann; Juniors, Dean Bohlman and Edythe Bergner; Sophmores, Randy Ten Haken and Pat Meyer; and Freshmen, Mike'Knauf and Donna Oooer. The first few days all were a little nervous and excited getting adjusted to high school surroundings. At our first class meeting we elected the following class officers! President, Dean Bohlman; Vice President, Susie Warpehoski; Secretary, Barb Gilray; Treasurer, Gwen Kaufmann; and Sergeant-at- arms, Jerry Fraaza. During the Freshman year we sponsored dances and sold con- cessions at games. Our advisors were Mrs. Deborah Schranz and Mrs. Rhonda Kerstner. We started our Sophomore year as a class of thirty-two students. The class officers elected at our first meeting were: President, Linda Kots; Vice President, Edythe Bergner; Secretary, Linda Suwyn; and Treasurer, Lanora Krause. In April of 1965, we eagerly awaited the day when we would order our class rings. We had a very successful Post Prom which was held in May. We had the Starfires present the music. Our class advisors were Mrs. Deborah Schranz and Mrs. Cynthia Bartel. In our Junior year we elected the following officers: President, Edythe Bergner; Vice President, Dean Bohlman; Secretary, Donna Uttecht; and Treasurer, Gwen Kaufmann. At the beginning of the year we started with twenty-nine students. We received our class rings September 28, 1965. One of the highlights of our Junior year was our Prom, which was held May H4., 1966. The theme was Some Enchanted Evening, and the music was provided by the Hi-Landers. Our King and Queen were Donald Jensen and Gwen Kaufmann. Our Senior year of 1966 began with thirty-three students. We elected the following class officers: President, Barb Gilray; Vice President, Gwen Kaufmann; Secretary, Lana Leider; and Treasurer, Judi Hetzel. On October 5 our class pictures were taken by Toburen in Wausau. At our class meeting we selected our annual staff. Our class colors are blue and white and our flower is the red rose. Our class motto is We Have Opened the Door—The World Lies Before Us. We selected the Northernaire as the high point of our Senior year for our class trip. On May 10, we held our class banquet at Chet Emil's. PROPHECY Year: 1977 Place: Marathon County Court House The Traffic Court of Marathon County is now in session. Judge Lanora Krause presiding. All rise. Present first case. People vs. Olympic runner, Cathy Kiser, charged with going 25 m.p.h. in a 15 m.p.h. zone—-plea not guilty. Why, Cathy Kiger I never expected to see you here. Well, I never expected to see you here either, especially not on that side of the bench. I see your starting another precedent. It sure has been a long time. What has happened to everybody since graduation? Let's see, Dawayne Barke and Harvey Fraaza have turned Bert's tire farm into auto repair shops and junk yardsT They are now known to many as the mechanics Bark and Here. Mike Wickman now owns and operates the Hatley Veneer. And I've been seeing quite a hit of Dean Bohlman lately too, he seems to have followed his father's footsteps in the opposite direction. Instead of doing the chasing, he seems to be the one getting chased. It seems that Lois Pappenfuss has followed her father's footsteps too. She now wears the pants in her family, suspenders and all! And Barb Gllray and Lana Lelder now operate the Knotty Pine Bar and employ Edle Bergner as their bouncerJ That reminds me. Barb Karpf and Judi Hetzel are also in the entertainment business. They own Tigerton Dells and Mary Resch works as a bar maid for them. Another of our classmates, Janet Hegewald entertains too. She works for the USO entertaining Armed Forces all over the world. What ever happened to Linda Suwyn? Oh, I understand she married a doctor--she no longer has to worry about her aches and pains. Have you read in the papers of Bob Bergner who won the trophy for being the greatest humming bird hunter? His wife, Teresa, carries his gear. Yes and Jerry Praaza has become quite famous since he discovered a cure for asthma. John 5legharter has turned Joe's farm into a tourist attraction. Tourists come from all over the country to fish for bullheads in his lake. Is anyone from our class married? Oh, yes, there are a few of them that are married. Linda Kots now bears the name Raymaker. She and her husband are busy printing the bookkeeping and shorthand books that so many B.H.S. students study from. And Sandy Orosbeler whose name is now Leider still lives in the trailer house with her husband, Harold and their five children. And didn't Shirley Resch get married? Yes, she and her husband now have their own comedy show which they had to name, The Family in a Shoe because they had so many children they didn't know what to do. And it seems we have a few millionaires in our class. Yes, Dennis Weins took made his million producing Surfer Stroge T-shirts for B.H.S. Phy. Ed. boys. And Rosie Warpehoski with her formula for polka dot hair dye. And Richard Marien became a barber, but made his million between haircuts playing CommunTst Bridge. Do you know what happened to Karl Pilath? Yes, he owns and operates his Dad's farm and he's now milking 200 cows. When he graduated they were milking 90, but with the pur- chase of the brand new Corvette in 1970 he had to increase the herd. And did you see the recent playboy of the year poll? Larry Pttecht and Allen Opper are rated number one and two. What became of Susie Warpehoski? Didn't you read of her in the newspapers? She's now Hatley's ambassador to Poland. What about Gwen Kaufmann? Remember the Patricia Stevens Finishing Schools, they're now Gwen's Finishing Schools and she is teaching girls all over the country to be poised and confident. And it seems that Linda Hance is working for her Dad just like she said she would, only not as a secretary. It seems she is part of one of his construction crews. What about Donnie Jensen? Oh, he joined the Air Force right after graduation and is now Commander-in-Chief of that branch of service. Do you know what ever became of Donna Pttecht? Well, she is a professional cheerleader for the Green Bay Packers and where's her best friend, Sharyn Lex? Oh, she's an auto mechanic, she had so much trouble with her Dad's car that she decided to do something about it I Well, now that I know what everybody's doing we'd better get back to the business at hand.
