PROPHECY Year: 1975 Place' Minneapolis Airport, Minneapolis, Minnesota Paging, Miss Helen Resch. Helen Resch, please report to the Reservationist desk. I'm Helen Resch, do you have a message for me- Yes, Why Helen Resch, I thought that name sounded familiar. Aren't you Sharon Cummings? I haven't seen you since graduation, but why are you working here 1 I thought you were an airline hostess. Well, -i- was until last year when I was married, now I'm working here in the reservationist office. Oh, I almost forgot about the message, here it is. Thanks. Oh, it's from my fiance I was to meet him for lunch; he has anothe'r meeting, but why don't you join me for lunch, we can reminisce over old times. Pine, I'll meet you in the cafeteria in a minute. (Now we join the girls in the airport cafeteria) Now, tell me all about yourself. There really isn't much to tell, I was the director of St. John's Orphanage in Milwaukee, I'm here with my fiance, now. We're flying home tomorrow to be married on Saturday. His business is here and he is just getting things straight so we can have a long honeymoon in Europe. How wonderfulI I imagine you'll have your wedding reception at Chet Emils. Isn't it wonderful the way Birnamwood has grown. I read the other day, that Chet ft Emils is one of the biggest and best country clubs in the state. Barb M verden and Doug must be proud to have such a successful establishment. Yes, and their marriage is just as successful. I suppose you see quite a bit of Pam Bohlman and Jerry Rew? I heard that they have formed a partnership with Dennis Rew and (are now operating the largest Ford dealership in Wisconsin. That's right. Did you know that David Rastl bought another airline? He is planning to expand into space travel, but his chief engineer Craig Damp is so busy designing sports cars. He hasn't had time to design the special engine that i-ave needs. I think that space travel is exciting, but I really admire Bruce Kiger for his work in the Cancer Research, he has won several awards for the advances he has made. I saw Judy Fraaza last week. She was telling me that she worked with Bruce on the last project. She and her husband opened their own clinic now, in Birnamwood. She is working with retarded children. Nancy Machmueller has returned from her studies in Europe and is now teaching at Birnamwood high and I heard that she has a good chance of becoming Principal next year. Ron Resch is also teaching at Birnamwood. His major is f| Agric.iltare and he is famous for his lectures on Mineral Wealth. Ron Ploeger is now director in Hollywood. He is, at present directing Ron Plater's new picture, Man Against the world. Yes, and Carol Paken is the minister in the new Methodist church in Birnamwood. Barie Hasil is the owner of the Eland Hotel. Ken Uttecht and Tom Fischer are the owners of the largest farms in Wisconsin. Yes, and Roger Wood and Charles Rupp are managing the Braves baseball team. Gene Baken is quite a war hero since his takeover of the _ South Vietnamese government; I still haven't figured out if he s friend or enemy of the United States. Last week he was meeting with the President of the United States, Norbert Burt. I haven't heard what they decided. I guess they are going to send General Bill Radun into °outh Viet Nam to take command of the military.' Glenn Opoer has been appointed to establish an observatory in the AntarlTc. I understand he was very successfulnwith the base in the Artie until the penquins chased him away. Barb Opper is content to be a good wife and mother. Report has it that she is planning to write a novel on the importance of NOT working after marriage. I heartily agree with her. Shirley Siegnarter was so enthused y her Law class in High School that she went on to study Law. She is now a very successful lawyer in Hawaii. I heard from her the other day, she and her husband are planning to visit here soon. Well I had better get back to work. It was wonderful see- ing you again. Best Wishes to you for a very happy marriage. Thank you and I hope I'll see you again soon,Good Eye. Good Pye BY Sharon Cummings Helen Resch Senior Class History On August 30, 1961, twenty-six excited freshman students entered BHS. After spending the first few days of getting acquainted and becoming accustomed to the new surroundings, we began to settle down. Thr first important event of the new class was the election of officers. They were as follows: President, David Rastl; Vice President, Ken Uttecht; Secre- tary, Barb Meverden; and Treasurer, Judy Fraaza. Three weeks after school started we were initiated by the sophomore class. Shortley after we gave them a return party. We started our sophomore year as a class of twenty-eight students. The class officers elected at our first meeting, were: President, Ron Resch; Vice President, Dave Rastl; Secretary, Charles Rupp; and Treasurer, Nancy Machmueller. We also began to plan initiation of the new freshmen. We eagerly awaited April when we ordered our class rings. On April 29 we had our annual post prom. The Wanderers provided the music. On September 3, 1963 twenty-nine juniors at BHS anxiously awaited the arrival of their class rings. On October 2U we received them. Class officers for the junior year were: Pres- ident, Nancy Machmueller; Vice President, Craig Damp; Secretary, Barb Meverden; and Treasurer, Helen Resch. On May 15, 1961+ we held the Junior Prom. An Evening in Paris was the theme. Jimmy Steiber and his Orchestra provided the music while students danced in the atmosphere of the Eiffel Tower and French sidewalk cafes. Roger Wood and Barb Meverden reigned as king and queen. September 2, 196U was the beginning of our senior year. We started the year off by selecting our yearbook staff and elect- ing class officers. The class officers were as follows: Pres- ident, Nancy Machmueller; Vice President, Sharon Cummings; Secretary, Shirley Siegharter; and Treasurer, Barb Meverden. On October 7 we went to Wausau to have our class pictures taken. For our class colors we chose royal blue and white. Our class flower is the white rose.
