HOW WE LOOKED THEN Rose Lapinski Jim Block Jack Spiegl Christine Jozwiak AM Virgil Miller Shirley Moss Bonnie Damp Eyelyn Hetzel Ricky Ryan Mrs. Matzke Rosalie Karen Arndt Henderson Krull Margaret Ellefson Carol Chrudirasky SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY The ten years since the class of 57 left B. H. S. have passed very quickly. It seems as though only yesterday we were still attending school, but in reality we have all put in years of hard work in our chosen fields. We've all changed a little, but still, as I think back over the plans each classmate had, I real- ize how all of their dreams and wishes have been fulfilled. It really is quite amazing to look up all the classmates and see how each is taking his place in society. „ , . I am on vacation and for the first time in years, I am going to check up on all of these old friends. It's a wonderful day for a ride, so I'll start out at the airport. Here, I find the regular turmoil, but amid a group of passengers, in a neat looking uniform is ROSEMARY BREYER the airline stewardess, smiling pleasantly and making sure everyone is comfortable. Her assistant is SANDRA YOUNG who has changed a bit, but she's still the same girl at heart. Further examination brings to light the pilot, our own BILL KORBISCH. He has really changed. He had originally planned a career in the U. S. Air Force, but he wanted to be with JOHN MEVERDSN who is doing similar work since he was discharged from the Army. As I leave the turmoil of the airport, I can see two large, red, round- roofed bams towering to the skies far out in the country. Nearing them I find they really are up to date. All of the work is done electrically. There are trench silos, and all of the latest conveniences. To my suprise I find there is none other than GARY BLOOD running it. He is the first farmer to make a million dollars and is taking it easy while beginning the second million. On my way back to my home, I decided to stop at the beauty salon to have my hair cut and there was KAREN ARNDT, the manager, who had her home next door, and her assistant cosmetologist, GANET CLARK. They were enjoying their work tre- mendously as they keot up with quite a bit of news of a few other classmates. From them I learned that MARJORIE MARTEN and DELANE LEMKE were working as tele- phone operators side by side as always. BETTY SCHMIDT was married and was liv- ing in the suburbs and making out nicely. SHARON CARLSON had settled down a few years previously and had a part time job as a social worker. VERONICA TAUTGES came in quite often, they told me, and she was also enjoying city life as TED DAY was coach at the local high school. PATSY SCHROEDER was a steno- grapher for a local firm and ANN PHILIPP'S restaurant has become one of the be3t in town. On my way outdoors, I saw a pair of white buck shoes approaching. They are a common thing now and much to my amazement, they belonged to DAN KIGER—really slick, I'd say. He had his DDS degree and was really in the chips. As I walked along with him for a while, we discussed our school days and he also informed me of the success of a few other classmates. DAVE JOZWIAK was head man in the Medical Technology department at a big hospital across town. KARL HOLTZ was foreman at a factory in the industrial section and had JOHN WEBER working as his assistant. BILLY FREMMING was working in the office of a large law firm and ROSALIE HENDERSON was not far away in a department store further down the street. Dan reached his destination then, so I walked on alone. I hadn't gone far when a car drew up beside me and the driver called me bv name. Much to my suDrise. there, looking just as nice as ever was LOLA SQHMITT. She was on her way to the hospital where she was a registered nurse. She was to go on duty ii way to the hos£i____ __ a”f«w mInute3°to talk about'the good old times and' was working at the hospital too. Lola told me and BEVERLY I was who turned I rienas. xvnrujn nuJonDij «ao nui ao uwt uvuuivai wv, BOETTCHER was a Medical Stenographer right down the hallw quite suorised also to hear that she lived next door to M.------- out to be a family man and had a nice job at a body shop as assistant superin- tendant under JIM MATSCHE. They had a good business worked out for themselves and had DON ARMSTRONG working as fender-bender. As we rounded the block, we saw another familiar face, SHIRLEY MOSS. We stopped for her and as she climbed in beside us, she began a steady stream of chatter, telling how she was teaching at the elementary school eight blocks down and that MARY ANN SIPPL was living in 'Wisconsin Rapids and taught there. We learned that ARDYTH MARTEN worked in the same school as Shirley, as a play- ground supervisor and the school's nurse was BO! NIE FREDRICK. As we neared the school, we saw a huge mansion and the plaque in front said in large letters, ZIEGELBAUER'S FUNERAL HOME . Yes, Jerone had finally made it after so many years of trying to decide exactly what he wanted. I got out of th.e car with Shirley to visit Bonnie and from her I learned that DELORES KAINZ was still around the same neighborhood and had a full time Job as a housewife. As for me, from there I hurried home to rest up as I had to go to work early the next morning as Medical Technologist.
