Later three more came which enlarged the number to 27. The Variety Show, sponsored by the Junior Class, and rut on stage with the help of other classes, proved to be very good. We can also say that the Carnival was a big success. The annual Junior Prom was held at Normandie Club on May 13, played by Claude Le Due’s orchestra. During the year a Bake Sale and Candy Sale were held to raise money. V-'J. isiALyxyna' w 'twftvlv One Act Play ONE ACT PLAY Cn Thursday, November 11, Birnamwood attended the Wolf River Valley One Act Play contest, which was held at Bowler High School. Gresham received first rating vith The Dear Departed. Bowler presented Bread, receiving a second. Mattoon gave Not Quite Such A Goose receiving a third. Birnamwood presented The Happy Journey, which we were happy to receive a first rating on. On Friday, November”19, the play cast and our director, ?virs. V.’iehrouch, presented the play at the District contest at Stevens Point. Y e received a second rating there. Our play was a comedy, which took place in an imaginary car. The characters were very well portrayed and the play was a big success. THEY GATS HIM A CO-ED The entire action of the play takes place in the lounge room in the Assembly Building of Cold Canyon College. A beautiful Mexican scene, gay senors and senoritas gayly decorated the ballroom. The theme song, The Serenade of the Bells, was played during the Crand March, which was led by the King, Peter Kaufman, and the ;jueen, Joyce Wolfinger. The coronation ceromonies succeeded the Grand March, which was held at ten o'clock. The couple was crowned by the last year’s King and ueen, Ray Vollmer and Regene Krueger. The Grown Bearers were Kenneth Leider and Sandra Szymanski.
