Have you considered looking into ' Southern Living? You would, w e are sure, find everything just the way you like it ... we all put on our topsiders one foot at a time, we polish our IZOD gators whenever in public, and we always can spare a dime. After a vigorous, hard-fought campaign and election, our 1979-80 Student Government Association took office last April. Meetings, of course, were a model of parliamentary procedure, although various members tended to indulge in rather lengthy debates on proposed resolutions, motions, and amendments to the infamous SGA Constitution. In functioning to coordinate and regulate student affairs, the Student Government Association encouraged all campus activities — except for those few days when we were without an activity fee. And for their outstanding work and leadership on this campus, the SGA became the first recipient of Circle K ' s Award for the Promotion of College Community. 164 STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIA TION OFFICERS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION President: Steven Benefield Vice-President: Claire Caldwell Secretary: Don Heflin Treasurer: Grant Smith Faculty Advisor: Dr. Henry Randall Freshman Class: Beth Harris, Mike Poist Sophomore Class: Mike Chappell, Brian Parke Junior Class: Bill Baldwin, Keith Smith Senior Class: Charlie Carlton, Dehryi M ason Resident Men: Jim Owens, Brent Faircloth Resident Women: Cindy Cox, Melinda Copper Commuters: Solomon Crenshaw, Richard Feist Fraternity Row: Tony Holden Night School: Carol Lewis Special Black Representative: Sharon Stone Married Student: Don Dockery 165 DEDICATED TO MUSICAL EXCELLENCE . . 166 THE CONCERT CHOIR The purpose of the Concert Choir is to in- volve and to interest students in music ex- cellence.
