November 16, 1979 will definitely go down as the date of one of Birmingham's greatest Home- comingsT lt was kicked off by a great Spaghetti Dinner with live entertainment. Then the Tradi- tional Homecoming Parade led by Knights and Ladies Presidents Mike Singer and Melissa EffronT Even though the game was a little disap- pointing, the Band and Drill Team put on an excellent, colorful and exciting half-time show. During the third quarter, past cheerleaders joined present cheerleaders, and showed us how great Birmingham spirit is. THE LAST QUEEN OF THE SEVENTIES The major highlight of the sport season is always the culminating Homecoming. This includes a lavish parade of floats, the marching band and drill team, cheerleading demonstrations, and general fun. Next is the big game and, finally, on Saturday night, the Homecoming Dance where the Queen and her Royal Court are crowned, The function is fabulously attended and highlighted by the alumni. The 1979-1980 Homecoming Queen, Miss Kelly Con- way is a dazzling example of the good taste of the Bir- mingham Braves. It proved to be a special night for all as xg, , . ii. 'fJfI',, . 1 I I .
