glass lfistozy On August 30, l95l , at a few minutes before 9:00 A. M. , seventeen shy freshmen sat in the seats along the north side of the Birmingham High School. It was not long until initiation was over and we found out what high school had in store for us. During the school year we lost Shirley Weaver, Dustin Silvers, and Donald Turner. Gerald Tedrow came to ioin our class and we then numbered fifteen. Having braved the storms of the year as The Green Freshmen , we came back to our second year of high school. We had l5 in our class. Then we lost Harold Wright, leaving I4 sophomores. In the fall of '53, we once again climbed those long stairs, this time very happy be- cause we were no longer called The Lower Classmen . Gene Ruble didn 't come back for our junior year, this left us l3 members. On August 30, 1954, the old schoolbell tolled us back to finish our last year of high- school days. We did have I2 in our class. Donna Oosthoek went to South Dakota but she came back the last of the year which made us l3 again. With sad, yet happy hearts, we leave B. H. S., the friends, and teachers whom we have known so well. With a class of 6 girls and 7 boys we graduate in this year of '55 from Birmingham High School.
