E IOR TRIP We, the Seniors of '59, our sponsors, Mr, and Mrs. Calvin Canniff and Mr, Tom Johnsten, and nine of our parents, left Bird City at 6 A,M, Saturday, May 16, bound for Bishop's Lodge at Santa Fe, New Mexico, Our first stop was in Limon, Colorado, for breakfast, then on to Canon City, where we stopped at Rudd Park to eat our sack lunches Immediately after lunch, we toured the Colorado State Prison, which was very interest- ing. We left Canon City and went on to the Royal Gorge Bridge, We all rode down the incline, but there were a few who didn't care to go out on the bridge, We went on to Alamosa and spent the night at the Sun and San Motel, Bright and early Sunday morning some drove out to the Sand Dunes, which were very pretty, the rest took ad- vantage ofthe time to catch up on their lost sleep, We left Alamosa about 10:30 A,M,, drove through the beautiful San Luis Valley and headed for Santa Fe. On the way we took a side road to view the Puye Indian ruins. The cliff dwellings were very interesting, despite of the dust and one ruined tire. We arrived at Bishop's Lodge at 3 P,M., tired, but excited, and ready for fun. Monday and Tuesday were spent in swimming, horseback riding, shuffleboard, hiking, bowling, sightseeing, movies and eating, It was greatly enjoyed by all. After breakfast Wednesday morning we said goodbye to Bishop's Lodge and all the wonderful people there and left for home, We stopped in Walsenburg, Colorado, for lunch, Burlington, Colorado, for supper and ar- rived in Bird City at 10:30 P,M. As Seniors, we shall never forget the wonderful time we had on our Senior Trip. IF T 1 I H' r ..ff4 -9 fo 1 J
