Class Prophecy iCont'dD Margola is the proprietor, owner, cook of it we have a nice friendly chat with her and gather band to take care of her yet but is very nice to us and gives us a ing in the restaurant, we see Lee supper He is still working for that she has not gotten any hus then there is always time S e meal fr e of charge While eat Sunderland come in and order his the BEA and running after Doris Elley, who is a very elusive little character We wish him all the luck in the world but that won't do much good if she isn't willing will it? Doris works in the Dry Goods Store as a clerk and so she is in town all the time Maybe she wants Lee to chase her?9?? After supper we go back to our room and prepare to go to the supper when we get there we find that Don Overturf and his wife Janette Haile are already there We find that he is farming on the Charles Overturf farm They seem to be happy and quite successful To share their joy with them there are a boy and a girl All of a sudden there is a rush at the door and a tall girl with lots of fafcy clothes and a very attractive look comes into the Gymnasium We recognize Nelda Pantler after a moments thought and find out from Don that she caught up with one be, that is if she the room He is a is still chasing the men but she has not quite of them yet I wonder who the unlucky one will ever catches one We see Kenton Elley come into big man now, not at all like he used to be H is just about ready to challenge the champ, Joe Louis, and we wish hlm all the luck in the world, and he will probably need it The hall is slowly filling up with former classmates most of whom we have already met in the day. There seems to be something strange because there is one man that we do not recognize. We ask Don who he is and he tells us that that is Radean Reade, who went to Texas after he graduated, put all his money in one gamble and hit it rich in the oil fields. He finally married a girl from Texas and we saw that he made a very good choice as he had brought her along and we had the privilege of seeing her. Mr. Hetzler, our sponsor in the Senior Year, is also here. He told so many stories of the absent minded professor that he has become one at Columbia University in New York City. Just before we are ready to sit down at the table to eat we hear an airplane come into the airport and wonder who it is. We cannot think of anyone that is absent and are gladly surprised when Yvonne and Jim walk in. We learn that he is now that he had a game that afternoon that he won that game. He had to home. In case you are interested and who knows about the future. banquet talking over old times and head coach at Kansas State and and we are also happy to learn leave the rest of his family at he has four boys and one girl We had a very nice time at the when the time came again to say good-by, we were very sad indeed but it was nice while it lasted. And so even as we said good-by to each one, I will also close this and say good-by to you. O . h 9 Q O C . U U I Q I I 'I 4 o . I l O e C

Class Prophecy On the afternoon of August 20, 1960, Dick Versch started out from New York on his way to a class reunion in Bird'City, Kansas. He had got a letter about a week before from Victor Andersen in Minneapolis, Minnesota that there was to be a reunion and asking h1m if he would stop in Minneapolis to pick Victor up and take him along in his new jet propelled airplane Dick Versch had started a very good bubble gum factory and his factory was running all the others out of business Victor Andersen was the History Professor at the U of Minnesota On the appointed day D1ck Versch landed in Minneapolis and picked up Victor They continued on there way to Bird City when they got thele they saw that there must be a new airport there and when they landed they found out that it was run by our good friend LeRoy Welch There had been much talk about building an airport there Nothing had been done tlll LeRoy star ted at it and then he got the airport bullt in a short time LeRoy told us that they now had a taxi servlce in town and that he would call one for us to take us tonthe hotel when the cab got there it was run by none other than our classmate Leo Loop I don't know if his Bookkeeping is very helpful at this job but Mr Hetzler could find somethlng that he could use We then went up to the now mo dern hotel in town It was run bf none other than Charlene Witham who had remained an old maid and I might say had become qulte rich at that She had built an entire new hotel and put lnto it all the modern conveniences that could be desired After we had reglstered and paid our bill, we looked around for someone to carry up our bags We were really surprised when Melvin Johnson came to carry our bags I wonder if Melvin really couldn't get any other Job if he is still trying to get Charlene and all her money The reunion is to be held up at the hlgh school the next night 8 P M We have all that day to look around so we ask Charlene there is any place 1n town th t we might be interested ln and she points out sev ral places of interest that we mlght like call for a taxi and declde to go to the Bob Kehlbeck ranch Wh1Ch is north of town We go out there but much to our dismay he is not It home but is out gnvestlgatlng one of his many herds of cattle and gettlng them ready to ship to market we head back to town knowing that we will see h1m tonight We had been informed that Bill Burr was livi g on hi father's farm So on our way back we drop in to see h1m U o do you think met us at th door but Donna H who used to live over in PcDonald By the looks of hi farm he seems to be doing okay for himself when we get back to town, we are greeted by Royce Johnson and lis wlfe Jerry Banzet They Just arrived from California, where Royce is a Lawyer and a quite suc cessful one at ttat and Jerry is stlll trying to make a llvlng for the r st of the family in the movies I should thlnk that Royce would be able to make a llvirg for both of them but then he proba bly spends all he earns and Jerry has to earn enough money to rear their family By the way they had to come by car instead of by air because of the heavy air traffic Their family consists of two boys and one girl As we go for supper in the Bird City Lunch Room we see that .
