The theme for this year's float competition was “Car- toons”. The senior class selected the char- acter of Speed Buggy with the slogan of Speed on to a Victory', the junior class picked “Captain Caveman” for their float and the motto of “Club Ет”, the sopho- more class chose Tweety Bird , with the slogan of “Cage Those Birds”, and the freshmen class decided to have “Snoopy” with their motto being, “Flying to a Vic- tory”. The winner of the covenant float jug was the junior class, which was based on originality, closeness to theme, work- manship, detail, and completeness. Another highlight of the half time was the crowning of the Homecoming Queen by last year's queen Ms. Shelly Rhoades, this year's queen was Ms. Shelley Port with a court consisting of Ms. Melissa Tanner, Ms. Marcia Schian, Ms. Connie Engelhart, and Ms. Colleen Dunning. These boys will be playing against a new group of schools, as we join the new Tri-County League. Many of these boys will make up our Junior Varsity team for the 1979-80 season.
