-  ‘S ( The Yearbook staff is very happy to DEDICATE our 1972 edition to Mr. Harry M. Layman. He has taught school and been an administrator for fourty and one half years. Thirty seven and one half years of those were at Birch Run. He graduated from Mancelona High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Central Michigan University. He later received his Master of Arts Degree at the University of Michi- gan. He spent three years teaching in Antrim County before he came to Birch Run. In 1934 he came to Birch Run as principal and coach. In 1935 he was made superintendent, teacher and coach. In 1966 he returned to just teaching. Over the years he has taught World History, World Geography, Government, Economics, Business Law, and Civics. We would all like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Layman for all he has done for Birch Run. We will always remember him.
