Elementary Administration GROUND BREAKING SIGNALS CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SCHOOLS The symbolic ground breaking performed by School Board President, Gilbert V. Berg, Sr., in the picture above signals the formal start of the largest building program in the District's history. Scheduled for completion in 1969 is an elementary school, an addition to the west high school unit and a new athletic field equipped with permanent stands, a rubberized all-weather track and lights for night games. Pictured with President Berg are: left to right: Henry Rose and Guy Dible, architectural representatives and Superintendent of Schools Marshall Greene. All three projects will be constructed on the Birch Run campus and will centralize all instruction in the district for upper elementary and senior high school students.
