ijonot Seniot4 VALEDICTORIAN Mary Ackerman 'SALUTATORI AN Roy Andrews Mary Ackerman and Roy Andrews earned valedictorian and salutatorian honors at Birch Run Area High School this year. Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Ackerman, 11350 Dixie Hwy., led her class with a 3.580 average. Roy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Andrews, 12120 Church St., was a close second with a 3.500 average. Mary has been a member of the Band, Glee Club, Keyboard Klub, and Clarinet Quartette. She was President of the Senior class and Treasur- er of the Freshman class and a member of the Student Council. She was a member of the school annual and newspaper staff, a librarian, a mem- ber of the Homecoming Queen's Court and a representative of her class at Senior Government Day. She assisted in the production of the Junior and Senior Class plays and was chosen Miss DAR by her classmates last Fall. Roy's high school career was marked by participation in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He had parts in the Junior and Senior plays, was a member of the band, the school newspaper staff, the Var- sity Club, and a librarian. He was chosen president of his class for three years and was on the Student Council. His outstanding achievement was winning the Jack Rottiers Memorial Award, given each year for exceptional citizenship and athletic achievement. Other pupils who ranked high scholastically are: Jean Price 3.285, Judith Duranseau 3.215, Robert Benes 3.178, Barbara Wilder 3.107, Ger- aldine Lerette 3.076, and Ruth Ann Hauck 3.000. We know that Hugh will make the best of them. Nancy Bamberg bequeaths to Pat Buckly her ponytail. Jean Be I i 11 bequeaths her attractive short-short hair AND dreamy shampoo to Edna Richey. Bob Benes wills the motor of his car to Tim Morse for his little old blue car, and he won't mind if Fred Gagliardi uses it. Beverly Bowns gives her intended happy married life to Bonnie Tobias; Bonnie, of course, will certainly make the best of it! Donald Daenzer wills all his extra typing lessons to Raphael Cassiday. Limber those fingers Raphael! Mary Bell Dewey leaves to Carol Janni her delightful gift of gab. Ken Duby gratefully wills his real cool hot rod to Beverly Harris and Sharon Courtney. Irene Dudek wills her black hair to Lloyd Woolworth!! Sandra Dunning wills her queenship to George Tanner. Judy Duranseau leaves her long dark hair to Dorothy Magnus, provided that Dorothy promises not to bleach it. Peggy Eagan leaves her WELL used typing eraser to Nancy Huckins; make good use ot it, Nancy. Bob Garfield wills his unexcused absenses, his trim figure, and his fondness of Mrs. Irish's study hall to Eddie Beach. Shirley Gaunt bequeaths her quietness in 8th period typing practice to Tony Miller. To that bashful Robert Andrews, petite Shirley Greene Wills her great love and talent for dancing; also, her ability to type letters. Ruth Ann Hauck wills all of her well used passes from classes to Janet Zissler. Bob Hickmott wills his ability to bring pretty blondes to school dances to Don Reed. Becky Kaufman gives Don to Alvin Loomis; she wouldn't trust Don with a girl. Gerry Lerette wills her liking to wear jeans to school to Kathleen Cook and Ruth Ann Patterson.
