Looking in on a grand ten room house We find a man--and his glamourous spouse. He is quite dark, handsome and tall. The girl is no other than our own Janet Hall. In the crystal ball we see Marvin Hauck, his career to be. An army major in world war three Commanding his forces, with a girl on each knee. Away from Birch Run has Ruth Marks flown. Across two oceans has she roamed. Now with her hubby in China they stay And start missionary work without further delay. Donna Eagan has made a success out of life. And during the wars, corruption and strife She has made school teaching her chosen profession But still able to support a pleasant expression. Now let us look, for who can this be? Deanna Coppoc, with her brood of three. Washing and ironing her husband's clothes. Yes, she finally got him to propose. We see Sandra Brown and Jac The king and queen of the high school hop, And right behind them, learning the sport, Are Susie, Jake, and little Mort. Jo Anne Block has made quite a reputation. At Marr School she's set up her station. Became superintendent all in one day Now making a fuss for a raise in her pay. Joan Bell now has returned Back to Birch Run where she at last learned You can't keep someone waiting while you have your fun. It doesn't work out with him and his son. Joyce Ewing just recorded a big smash hit The trouble with men and how to stop it. But she herself is unhappy with men And hopelessly tied down with her family of ten. As we look ahead into Gordon's life We see he's still looking for a wife. He sells insurance and is known for miles 'round For he's got the hottest Ford in town. A lark in a meadow, a thrush in the wood These, I assure you, are better than good. But compare these, I charge you, to a Knight known as Donna, The starstudded attraction at the Copa Cabanna. In the very near future we see Jeanette Lis, Teaching school children down in Memphis, She owns the biggest casino in town. Men come to gamble from all miles around. Dan Robertson has done rather well with his bit. In used car shops he's made quite a hit, A big wheel at the shop, they call him Pres., A hen pecked husband so his wife says. As we travel along the road of good fame We find one Jack Maeder much the same. Except that in business he's known all around. Yes, Maeder's saloon, the finest in town. H. L. CLASS PROPHECY The Senior Class of Fifty-five Being hale and hearty and much alive. Has looked to the future to see what may be Held in store for us all in nineteen seventy. We've employed the serress, the prophets and sages To help us look forward down through the ages. But fifteen years forward makes quite a great change. As you'll certainly find when you let your mind range. All through these pages as your classmates you greet You'll rave with surprise at what all you will meet. Their doings we've chronicled, their loves and their lives And what they've acquired in husbands and wives. In a big lonely mansion upon a great hill We find Janice Duff is still running her still. She knits by the day, and works by the night. Cheeks ever glowing, eyes always bright. Looking into a ranch style, magnificent house. We see Frances Zehnd ' ’ ’ , Frances a model, Bud a good cop. Sylvia Beach we find, has a very easy station. Makes her home in the white house, has a good occupation. She polishes the silver, puts out the cat. Answers the door bell; what's easier than that? Finding her vocation through her much loved chemistry. We see Yolanda Granger and surprised were we. At her spending her time in atomic research Mixing all the atoms to blow up the earth. Wayne Raquepaw with pencil, books and all Is studying at M. S. C. this fall. Engineering is his trade, A new model car we see he's made. Barbara Totten, we see, has played the field ‘till She ran out of boys, as many girls will. But now it's happened, as her luck may be. Fourteen oil wells in her family tree. Ronnie Worden has inherited the rink It used to be Uncle Howard's we think. The skating's improved since Ron has taken over And with the girls he's still quite the rover. Dispense with the lyric, the sonnet, the ode, Down with all stanza, all Shakespearean code. Inspired by these, most unorthodox thoughts Julie writes volume on volume, never distraught. For Dorothy Hickmott travels have ceased She now has a home in the far, far east. Singing her best for the good service men. Being housekeeper for a family of ten. 'Twas an evening in surgery and high overhead God entrusted his patient to the plasma she fed. The scalpel, the scissors, the tweezers, the twine A citation for Janet--for her patient who's fine. New York has boomed since Jeanetta hit town. She gathered the guys and gals from all around. Her blind date business is really in swing Including Jeanetta and her great diamond ring. With Barbara his wife and Frankie his son Duane Robertson's home, his day's work is done. He sits by the fire and blue prints he draws---- The dream shop of mechanics without any flaws. The pages of time have uncovered Dick Sproul We see that at last he's reached his goal. He's finally become a Yankee short stop----- Without his presence the games are a flop. Our very first glimpse gave us a start. He's not on the stage but plays the part. New fangled ideas are not for Bill Vaughn, He still juices cows at the crack of dawn. Alice and Tony are now long settled down, In a little white cottage, far from town. Out in the field, Alice we find, Tony in the barnyard, feeding the swine. Classmates, of the future we now have learned. Viewed our lives and to the present returned. Fulfilled we have seen each dire prophecy. So, the future holds no terrors, what'er it may be. So, let's plan a big meeting in a decade or half (The characters we've become should give us a laugh). But no matter the exterior, we're as from the start. Class memories of Fifty-Five, we cherish in our heart. SENIORS SENIORS SENIORS SENIORS Seniors - Seniors - Seniors all over Chicago in May.
