STUDENT COUNCIL TOP ROW - L TO R; Wayne Raquepaw, Ruth Ann Eauck, Lois Papineau, Joyce Papineau, Julie Hathaway, Laura Hathaway, Janet Trinklein, Gilbert Berg, Roy Andrews. BOTTOM ROW; Mr. Layman, Eugene Duranseau, Donna Knight, Carol Langley, JoAnn Block, Dale Schumann, Ken- neth Gray, Mr. Greene. THE STUDENT COUNCIL The student council, instituted for the first time at Birch Run High School this year, is the representative governing body of the school, to which the school administration delegates as much responsibility as it is felt can be carried successfully. It is composed of the class officers elected by the student body. Through it both the faculty and student body can offer criticisms and suggestions. Students are urged to bring their problems and any ideas to the council or members of the council. It is hoped that during the coming year the council can assume the responsibility for parties and extra-curricular activities suggested or requested by members of the council, the student body, or the faculty advisors. It is tentatively planned that the student council will sponsor the cheer leaders, conduct cheerleader elections, and conduct pep meetings.
