Part of the members of the class were also in the Junior-Senior play, Little Shepherd From Kingdom Come, directed by Mr. Bittner. We all agree our Senior year was our busiest year planning our commence- ment, and Junior-Senior Trip, We are proud that of the twelve graduating Seniors, ten of us started out together in the first grade. August, 1952 Being in the seventh grade, we found it was somewhat dif- ferent than the first six grades, but we soon got adjusted to going without any recess, This year Beverly Raber left and Mary Jane Andrews and Larry Coble joined our class. We elected class officers and had two class parties. Our spon- sor was Miss Williams. now Mrs. Rethlake. August, 1953 In the eighth grade we lost one student, Mary Jane Andrews. Annette Newsome and Sue Reeves came to our class, and Beverly Raber came back in the middle of the year. This year we had three sponsors, Mr. Garber, Mis. Paddock, and Mrs, Burkhart, This was also the year that Mrs. Burkhart asked us girls why we thought we were so sophisticated. US, sophisticated at thlrteenlll???l ll August, 1954 In the Freshman class our new sponsor was Mr. Ward. This year Bryce Whelchel moved away and Beverly Raber left again, We had our first class party at the school house and went bowling at Huntington for our sec- ond party, We had Freshman Initiation at the beginning of the year. What a sight we were! I I The girls in our class joined the Sun Shine Society this year. Jack White came back to our class this year. August, 1955 Our Sophomore class sponsor was Mr. Tilson King. We went to North Manchester to go bowling for our class party. This year some of the class members had their first experience in the all-school play, The Canni- bal Queen, At the end of this year we ordered our class rings, In the summer we had an Ice Cream Social at the school and we also had a swimming party at Center Lake. August, 1956 Our Junior year in hlgn school was very busy. Mrs. Swales was our sponsor. At the beginning of the year we got our class rings. Of course. we were very proud. We sold magazine subscriptions, sold candy and ice cream in the candy room every noon, and sold candy, ice cream, pop, and pop corn at the home baseball and basketball games to make money for our trip, In the spring we had a class play, Arizona Dude Ranch, and a bake sale at Hunting- ton, We also planned the Junior-Senior Reception at North Manchester. In Mrs. Swales English class this year, we almost had a fatal accident when our class- mate, Ted Campbell, fell off his chair, In this English class shoes, sweaters, books, and purses were always accidently falling out the windowsg much to the disturbance of Mrs, Weist's room. We thought the floor in the recreation room was slanted because the shuffle-board disks kept rolling off the tables and down the floorQThis was much to the disturbance of Mrs. Swales.J August, 1957 Seniors at last! ! And we thought we would never make it. Mrs. Swales was our sponsor again this year. Ted Campbell moved to Andrews. Early in the fall we got our Senior Pictures. We sponsored a Waffle and Sausage Supper and a Christmas Program to earn money for our Senior Trip to Washing- ton D. C. and New York, We got our commencement invitations in January and ordered our caps and gowns for the baccalaureate and commencement,
