DAY OF PRAYER A Special Time The 1980 Day of Prayer was a very special day and a real encouragement to Biola students. The evening before, a special meeting was led by Steve Clark to prepare for the oncoming day. Bright and early on the Day of Prayer a sunrise service was held. Professor Ed Curtis led this with a devotional. After this breakfast was opened and Dick Day spoke on the importance of prayer in guy-girl relationships. Dorm-floor, commuter and faculty groups then met for a time of sharing through prayer. The main session was presented by Dr. Earl Radmacher who enthusi- astically instructed and encouraged us to be faithful in our prayer lives. After a free afternoon for individual pray- ertime the day was closed with a Bar- B-Que and communion. Here the body gethered together in worship and com- munion. Day of Prayer 23

Torrey Me- morial Bible Conference this year, af- forded many new insights for all of us looking for God's will concerning mar- riage, family, love's real meaning, values, and discipleship. For the first time I saw how short my efforts at love have fallen explained one student who particularly enjoyed Jill Briscoe's Love ls seminar. Bob Kraning's topic was very practical for me com- mented another. Values and Lifestyle are issues that we should all struggle with as we are maturing in Christ. The morning seminars entitled Before Yous Say l Do given by Dr. Mark Lee, and The Deteriorating Family by Dr. Dennis Guernsey, were further high- lighted by the popular Dobson family series films, shown in the afternoons.
