My warmest congratulations to the graduates of the Class of 1978 on their many achievements. I imagine you'll make numerous dis- coveries aboul yourselves after you leave this University. Sure to be among those discoveries is the feeling that your years here were a priceless in- vestment, the building of a solid foun- dation for your lives. Another discovery you'll make will be of the new relationship you'll have with SUNY-Bighamton as an alumnus. With your degree, you become our representative to the world at large, and a testament to the quality and vitality of this University, In addition, I think you'll find, your future concerns as graduates will be an outgrowth of those you had as a stu- dent: a mix of personal achievement and a desire to improve the commu- nity and society in which we live.
