Vital to the continuance of American culture and security, it reawakens the conviction of the im- portance of freedom as the basis of our civilization, Liberal education is practical in the deepest sense. It is not the foe, but the unpublished ally of technology; and it is constantly affecting every field of human effort. At Harpur, through the interaction of faculty and students, and through social clubs and athletic activities, all can work toward the fulfillment and perfection of their common aim. For the student, the primary truth of liberal education is that he must first be a man, and then choose his profession. The Colonist is a record of this truth in action, ........
